TEACHER RESOURCE
Themes and content in the songs on
Blackfoot Sky depict current First Nations perspective. Each song shares
a story that is functional, thought provoking, and interactive. They can
be utilized in study of First Nations people and culture, past, present
and future.
Each song then can become a lesson
adaptable to any grade level from Kindergarten to Post Secondary
studies. These lessons move the students far beyond the classroom and
into the realm of First Nations thought.
It's my sincere intention that
Blackfoot Sky can replace the old inaccuracies in aging textbooks and
curriculum with the beginnings of hope and determination for new
learners of all ages. It is of critical importance that all school
districts and learning systems possess enriching Aboriginal studies
materials provided by materials developed by Aboriginal people
themselves.
Blackfoot Sky Lessons Plans and
Curriculum are being developed and will be available in the very near
future.
